Epson Event Manager Windows 11 Setup Guide (24H2 & 23H2)

1. Windows 11 Architecture Compatibility (x64 & ARM64)

Windows 11 features significant security improvements—including Smart App Control, Core Isolation, and Memory Integrity. The latest release of Epson Event Manager (v3.11.82) is fully certified for both 64-bit Intel/AMD (x64) systems and Snapdragon ARM64 devices (such as Surface Pro Copilot+ PCs) running Windows 11 24H2 and 23H2 under x64 emulation.

2. Clean Installation Process

1. Download the official executable package: EventManager_31182_31_S.exe (17.5 MB) from our homepage.
2. Right-click the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and select Run as administrator.
3. When the User Account Control (UAC) dialog prompts you, verify the verified publisher says SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION and click Yes.
4. Follow the setup wizard to completion and click Finish.

3. Enabling Auto-Start with Windows

For your hardware scanner buttons to work reliably whenever your PC is on, Epson Event Manager must launch automatically when you sign in:

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
2. Click on the Startup apps icon in the left navigation menu.
3. Find Epson Event Manager in the application list.
4. Ensure the status is set to Enabled. If it displays "Disabled", right-click it and select Enable.

4. User Account Control (UAC) & Administrator Privileges

In certain corporate or managed school environments, standard user permissions may block Event Manager from listening on UDP sockets:

• Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Epson Software\Event Manager\.
• Right-click EventManager.exe and select Properties.
• Open the Compatibility tab.
• Check "Run this program as an administrator" if your scanner frequently loses connection across corporate user switching.

5. Keeping Event Manager Active in the Windows 11 Taskbar Tray

By default, Windows 11 hides non-essential icons behind the small up-arrow tray menu. To keep Event Manager visible at all times:

1. Right-click an empty space on your Windows 11 Taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
2. Click Other system tray icons to expand the list.
3. Locate Epson Event Manager and toggle the switch to On.
4. The blue Epson Event Manager icon will now permanently sit beside your clock, allowing one-click access to button settings.
